A few days ago, I came across this photo
I wish I knew who to give credit to for making this. (If you know, please enlighten me)
I have been practicing photography for six years. I have bought three cameras, a few lenses, a couple classes, and software. In the six years, I have never been paid. I have put my blood, sweat, and tears into my passion I would like to make a living on.
I have been writing since i was a teenager, and the odds of being published is slim and none, and yet I keep going.
I picked up sewing a few years ago, and if photography fails me, this is my back up. I've only been doing it for two years now, but i think i've spent as much money on it as my photography.
My life is art, and when I put my art up for sale, you are not just buying that piece. You are buying my many years of practice. You are buying into my living, my kids' future, my heart, my soul. You are buying, love.
So before you complain about that framed piece of the milky way costing $450.00, that custom purse for $60, the indie author for $40, or the pottery, the canvas painting, or ANY art. Remember there is a story behind it. Stop and ask, we would be happy to tell you.
